I think you're awesome, I really do. If I didn't have such a thing about screen space, I'd probably play my own taurens more. So please do not take this the wrong way.
Y'all look absolutely ridiculous riding hawkstriders.

P.S. Tauren men, you also look pretty silly on pretty much anything but a kodo. You're too big and they're too small. Makes me want to call the ASPCA. Just sayin'.

I don't get it. Aside from the hawkstriders, female taurens look perfectly fine on whatever they ride, but male taurens look spectacularly hilarious on anything but kodos.
Same with draenei and elekks. If the females ride horses or rams or cats, it looks alright, but the males look stupid on anything but elekks.
Although why you wouldn't want at least one kodo or one elekk is beyond me, no matter what you play. Ideale would have had a kodo instead of a hawkstrider at 40 if I'd known you had to be exalted to get one.
I will eventually get every mount.
The easiest of course is your own native racial... so Taurens will get kodo. The next easiest would probably be pvp mounts.... even if I suck at the BGs.
Grinding rep is painful unless there's something else going on at the same time. I was working on the Nagrand ogres last night for a few hours with a guildie. He nearly dinged and I got at least a third of a level. I was also collecting bits for a couple of quests, so it wasn't all wasted time just grinding rep. Lots of netherweave too, to fill out my bank alts's bag slots.
Yeah, until I discovered talbuk mounts, Ideale was going to get a black war kodo, I just had to bring myself to do some Warsong Gulch for the marks. (I hate WSG at the lower levels, but I finally wandered back in the other day and found it's incredibly fun at 70.)
If you're not there already, I highly recommend the Laughing Skull ruins for ogre killin'. They drop plenty of netherweave cloth, obsidion warbeads, and Oshu'gun crystal powder, plus they're easy and higher level than most of the other ogres. My second choice was Kil'Sorrow Fortress — you still get 10 rep for each kill with the Mag'har, plus they dropped Marks of Kil'jaeden for either Aldor rep or to sell on the Auction House.
I <3 my female taurens, they're "small" enough that they look awesome on most non-kodo mounts.
Well the ones that they can ride, anyways. Gosh I want a hawkstrider.
*nod* Like I said, I've seen female taurens riding just about everything and they look just fine. It's the males, really, that look silly.
Although now that I'm looking at Warcraft Mounts, I'm thinking I must have seen someone in some kind of disguise or something? (Is there a disguise that lets you look like a tauren?) Because I can't find a hawkstrider mount that a tauren can ride, but I definitely saw a male tauren riding a hawkstrider in Orgrimmar.
Tauren can ride the white Hawkstrider that drops in... Heroic Magisters Terrace I think? I want it on my lil' cowgirl, guess I'll be running it a million times at 70 >.>

Tauren do look pretty silly on the brewfest ram mounts too. IF Bliz don't block access to rams for horde this year, AND the level 30 mounts actually come, I'm going to get one on my Dath druid.
I'd love to see a male Tauren or male Draenei on a gnome steam chicken! He would need a brightly coloured clown suit as well. And MASSIVE shoes.
